R HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUS
Our client is a leading renewable energy independent power producer (IPP), aggregator and energy trade company. They empower commercial and industrial companies to reach their net-zero goals while securing long-term energy savings.
They now seek a corporate finance investment manager to join their capital team. You will report directly to the chief investment officer (CIO). This is a new and very important role.
Points to note – Active involvement in the Series C equity raise;
- Participation in the BEE equity raise;
- Upsizing both guarantee facilities and hybrid equity within the next six months;
- Supporting project finance planning for business’ -owned assets, which will progress through FC in late 2026
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible for the execution of a capital strategy aligned with the company’s broader business strategy. The role requires strong process management and financial modelling skills to ensure the capital system remains in flow while managing complex financial objectives;
- Capital strategy & planning:
- You will be required to support capital planning initiatives and execute strategies to optimise the use of group capital;
- Fundraising:
- You will be required to manage capital raise processes, including the implementation of structured instruments;
- Due diligence:
- You will be required to support and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes for potential investments and capital raises;
- Financial modelling & analysis:
- You will be required to maintain complex financial models and provide detailed financial analysis to support decision-making;
- Governance & reporting:
- You will be required to support the preparation of materials for the investment committee (ic) and board of directors, as well as monthly lender reporting;
- Strategic growth:
- You will be required to support “ventures for impact” (VFI) activities, including financial analysis and due diligence coordination to drive group margin expansion.
CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- You are an “all-in” problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment;
- You have a primary competency in process management and the ability to provide clarity on project needs and timelines;
- You have strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into formal management recommendations for executive approval.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have a postgraduate degree (e.g., honours, masters, or professional designation such as CA(SA) or CFA) ;
- You have a minimum of 5 – 7+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related experience in a consulting or FS environment – and a great, easily verified track record!
- You have advanced financial modelling skills and a deep understanding of corporate finance, project finance and capital markets;
- You have familiarity with the renewable energy sector – this would be a distinct advantage!
