They now seek an executive head to join their team. You will replace the outgoing head who is leaving for a personal family opportunity and in good standing with the business. The business is highly successful and poised for greatness.
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible, as a key member of the company’s executive committee, for managing the international business, the Bermuda division, as well as any other structures that form part of the international investment offering (for example, the Jersey business). In conjunction with this, as part of the executive team, the role is expected to contribute significantly to the growing and driving of the broader company’s business development, portfolio growth and organisational growth strategies; including a business in India.
- As it is currently established, the international business is structurally separate from the rest of the business in many respects and is managed with separation in certain directly managed areas, on a different IT system and with various services outsourced to third party administrators. You will be required to manage direct teams of business development, operations and client services, to manage and drive outsourced third party administration relationships, and to source, manage and influence services provided by other parts of the company and the wider group. These functions include identifying growth opportunities, whether these be on a stand-alone basis or in collaboration with other departments, and to strategically drive and position the company’s international proposition for future relevance;
- You will be required to ultimately ensure that the company has a relevant and profitable international business that contributes to the broader company’s businesses strategy in a manner that is in keeping with the values and culture of the company;
- You will be required to formulate and communicate the international vision and strategy;
- You will be responsible for business planning, budgeting and resourcing the client servicing, business solutions, investment administration and product sales teams. Also responsible for sourcing and managing services that can be provided more effectively by the wider business;
- You will be responsible for the management of outsourced third-party administration services and providers;
- You will be responsible for managing the Bermuda Branch, including the relationships with service providers in Bermuda.
- You will be required to manage the relationship with the regulator Bermuda Monetary Authority, including the submission of annual reports;
- You will be responsible for the achievement of annual sales, profit and VNB targets;
- You will be required to plan targets and goals in line with the business strategies;
- You will be required to build a media profile for the international business and position as a market / thought leader;
- You will be required to build and maintain mutually beneficial internal relationships with key stakeholders within the company and the wider group;
- You will be required to create and maintain a culture in line with the values of the company;
- You will be required to ensure that all staff have up to date performance objectives, personal development and training plans;
- You will be required to encourage open and constructive relationships and mentor others to build effective internal and external relationships;
- You will be required to play an active role in the industry to ensure that the dynamics are the market are comprehensively understood;
- You will be responsible for responsible for a competitive and sustainable international value proposition available to the intermediaries and retail clients;
- You will be required to develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that will lead to increased market share;
- You will be required to foster long-term partnership with the company’s business development team to ensure the effective and efficient “intermediated go to market” strategy for sustainable growth;
- You will be required to continue to explore alternative models to increase the asset base;
- You will be required to lead relationship building with industry players and develop strategies to leverage network for business opportunities and partnerships that will successfully achieve the various business objectives;
- You will be required to lead a senior management team by aligning the company’s vision, strategy and business key performance indicators with distribution, client experience delivery, business solutions and investment administration teams;
- You will be required to create opportunities to influence key role players to ensure alignment between decision makers;
- You will be required to drive productivity via the investment channel (footprint and cross-sell) in collaboration with the company’s business development;
- You will be required to enhance and increase the use of technology in the intermediary and client channels;
- You will be required to provide nationwide high quality consistent technical support (for investment solutions / products) to intermediaries;
- You will be required to grow the international businesses key differentiator offering in the corporate financial advisory and network space;
- You will be required to active commitment to drive the right people behaviour, competencies, and values to support the company strategy;
- You will be responsible for various operational best practices too.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have an honours degree as a minimum;
- You have a minimum of 10 years’ current, relevant experience at senior management level;
- You have a MBA – this would be a distinct advantage;
- You have international investment knowledge and experience – this is a key requirement; and you understand the LISP space;
- You have a proven track record in managing teams/business/division in a high-performance environment that consistently achieve targets;
- You have experience of developing and implementing strategic priorities designed to improve competitive advantage and profit margins;
- You have the ability to anticipate client needs and industry trends in order to achieve success;
- You have knowledge of:
- Business strategy development and implementation. Manage P&L;
- Operational functioning and delivery;
- Budgeting and expense management;
- Risk and compliance management;
- Management of employees.
