They now seek a finance and operations senior manager to join their team. You will be working with the business’s partners, the investment team, the funds’ support team, the portfolio companies, service providers and the local and international investors.
The company expanding their portfolio and funds under management and are looking for an experienced, detail orientated, financially strong and operationally knowledgeable individual to oversee and be accountable for the business’s operations and operational functions..
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible for implementing, overseeing or managing operations relating to:
- Maintaining investment structures (local and international);
- Fund reporting (financial and ESG);
- Internal governance Internal governance, regulatory and licenses, legal and compliance;
- Invoicing, drawdowns, receipts and payments for the Funds and management company;
- Payments and processes related to Fund investments, distributions and disinvestments;
- Portfolio company monitoring and reporting, with strategic operational involvement;
- You will be responsible for managing internal team on operational matters including introducing and implementing effective systems, procedures and processes;
- You will be responsible for managing external stakeholders on operational matters such as:
- Legal (tax, Excon, investment structures, company secretarial);
- Regulatory bodies, licences and compliance;
- Accountants and auditors;
- Investors (LP’s);
- Portfolio companies;
- You will be responsible for all aspects relating to operations and where applicable finance relating to implementing, executing, managing and reporting on investments and valuations (financial and ESG) and effectively managing a fund manager, with direct exposure to the businesses’ partners, the investment process, the deal team, underlying portfolio investments, the various local and international investment structures, investors and operational aspects related to raising and managing a fund.
CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- You have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English
- You have a high level of analytical aptitude and high degree of accountability;
- You have a keen eye for detail and the desire to roll-up their sleeves and ability project manage and manage teams and stakeholders proactively and effectively.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have a minimum of an undergraduate degree at honours level (finance related) CA,(SA) is ideal and perhaps some of the CFA exams- in addition preference will be given to candidates with legal structuring expertise and experience;
- You have a minimum 5 years current, relevant experience, ideally in finance in an investment space, fund management, and / or operations;
- You have high proficiency with MS business suite and tools, including Excel.
