JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible for the end-to-end oversight, governance and effective execution of core investment operations processes, including unlisted trade processing and valuations, listed and money market trade support, NAV oversight and project delivery. The role ensures a strong environment, accuracy and disciplined risk management across the full investment lifecycle. This position carries direct responsibility for multiple operational functions, people leadership and capability development, and active engagement in key governance committees and strategic initiatives;
- Oversight of unlisted trade processing & valuations:
- You will be responsible for end-to-end oversight of unlisted investment operations, including:
- Governance and review of unlisted trade processing and deal administration;
- Oversight of cashflows, rollovers, rate resets, and instrument setup;
- Oversight of trade settlement, income processing, and query resolution;
- Review and governance of daily, monthly, and periodic valuation processes;
- Oversight of collateral margin management;
- Close engagement with Investment Teams, Finance, Risk, IT and external parties to ensure robust execution and control;
- You will be responsible for end-to-end oversight of unlisted investment operations, including:
- Trade support oversight (listed & money market):
- You will be responsible for oversight of listed fixed income and money market trade support activities;
- You will be responsible for ensuring timely trade capture, settlement, and reconciliation with back-office providers;
- You will be responsible for monitoring and resolution of trade breaks, exceptions, and operational risks;
- You will be responsible for acting as escalation point for complex trade-related issues;
- NAV oversight:
- You will be responsible for oversight of daily fund net asset valuation (NAV) processes;
- You will be required to review of unit price (CIS, Pooled)reasonability checks and out-of-tolerance breaches;
- You will be responsible for engagement with back-office providers to resolve valuation, trade or pricing issues;
- You will be responsible for ensuring strong controls, documentation and governance over NAV processes;
- Committee engagement;
- You will be responsible for active participation and preparation for valuation committee, credit committee and other relevant governance forums;
- You will be required to review and challenge of valuation inputs, methodologies and assumptions;
- You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation, escalation and follow-through on committee outcomes;
- Project and change engagement:
- You will be responsible for oversight of operational projects impacting investment operations;
- You will be responsible for acting as business owner or senior stakeholder for change initiatives;
- You will be responsible for ensuring process ownership, documentation and sustainable implementation of enhancements.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have a degree in accounting, economics and finance at honours level;
- You have a post graduate qualification or studying towards one – this would be a distinct advantage (e.g. Hons degree or CFA, CA (SA));
- You have system knowledge of Hiport / Invest One or similar, MS Office, CRIMs, Infostore and UBS Delta – this would be a distinct advantage;
- You have a minimum of 10 years’ current, relevant experience in investment operations or asset management;
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ current, relevant experience in a people management and oversight role;
- You have a strong understanding of bond pricing, yield curves, and fixed income valuations;
- You have a solid understanding of NAV processes and back-office operating models;
- You have demonstrated experience in process ownership, review and control;
- You have proven ability to operate effectively across investments, operations, risk and finance;
- You have excellent knowledge of Advanced MS Excel.
