R HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUS
This global, top performing investment company is one of Southern Africa’s most successful third-party fund management companies. They are a pure fund management business that provides both individual and institutional investors with access to markets across a number of geographies.
They now seek a chief financial officer and financial director to join their team. You will report to the chief executive officer.
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be required, as the financial director (FD), to be hands-on and take overall control and responsibility for all financial related aspects of the company, including managing the finance team, financial reporting and analysis;
- You will be required to serve as the functional reporting line to the internal audit and company secretary functions;
- You will be required to have oversight over integrated reporting, ESG and sustainability reporting as it relates to the group;
- You will be required to form a close working relationship with the CEO, senior executives, the finance team and non-executive directors;
- You will be required to manage the company’s accounting function & financial performance, including cost controls and corporate budgeting processes;
- You will be required to understand key drivers and contribute to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business;
- You will be responsible for providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers;
- You will be required to ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth;
- You will be required to take ultimate responsibility for the company cash and capital management;
- You will be required to participate in investor relations activities;
- You will be required to oversee company secretarial function, internal audit and manage relationships with third parties including the auditors;
- You will be required to ensure that the regulatory, including corporate tax requirements of all statutory bodies are met;
- You will be required to ad hoc projects in.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You are a qualified chartered accountant CA(SA);
- You have a minimum of 10 years’ current, relevant financial management experience overseeing the finance function;
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ current, relevant experience serving on a board;
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ current, relevant successful people management;
- You have financial services and listed entity experience – this would be a distinct advantage;
- You have strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies;
- You have SAGE Intacct experience – this would be a distinct advantage.
