Our client is a boutique asset investment manager operating within the commercial property sector. Their core services include managing multiple financial companies and consolidating them into a consolidated group report to clients. They also provide financial and secretarial services across their group of companies.

They now seek a financial manager to join their team. You will report to the executive leadership. This is a professional growing firm – but not stuffy. They can still be flexible re work from home/working hours etc. They fully support further education and training and there are meaningful opportunities to grow into a strategic leadership role as the business expands.

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be responsible for the full financial function of the company and its clients, including fund-level reporting, consolidation, compliance and client liaison. This role combines traditional financial management with strategic investment responsibilities, providing a unique opportunity to engage in the full value chain of property asset management and investment;
  • You will be required to be actively involved in investment planning, due diligence, asset administration and the financial performance of all managed portfolios;
  • Financial management & reporting:
    • You will be required to oversee and execute all financial operations for the company and client SPV’s;
    • You will be required to produce monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial reports;
    • You will be required to manage debt funding activities, including repayments and liaison with lenders;
    • You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for operating and capital structures;
    • You will be responsible for tax compliance and submissions;
  • Investment support & asset management:
    • You will be required to develop financial models for property investments and acquisitions;
    • You will be required to conduct tenant due diligence and feasibility studies for new investments;
    • You will be required to track investment performance ratios, portfolio dynamics and valuations;
    • You will be responsible for covenant monitoring and solvency / liquidity analysis;
  • Compliance & administration:
    • You will be required to ensure all regulatory requirements are met for the company and clients;
    • You will be required to maintain ESG and transformation reporting in line with fund KPI’s;
    • You will be required to serve as liaison for audit processes and reporting;
    • You will be required to fulfil company secretarial functions across the group;
    • You will be required to oversee HR, payroll and internal systems;
  • Strategic input:
    • You will be required to participate in shaping the financial and operational strategy of the firm.
    • You will be required to engage directly with clients, auditors, valuers, and financial institutions.
    • You will be required to assist in creating new property funds and managing related financial structures.

CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • You have strong financial acumen with high keen eye for detail;
  • You are an analytical thinker with experience in financial modelling;
  • You are an effective communicator and confident client liaison;
  • You have excellent communications (verbal and written) skills in English;
  • You are team-oriented with a hands-on, proactive mindset;
  • You are comfortable operating in a small, collaborative team;
  • You are self-driven and self-motivated;
  • You are a responsible individual that is a self-starter.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a chartered accountant (CA SA) qualification – this is essential;
  • You have a minimum of 8 years’ current, relevant experience in:
    • Financial management (reporting, consolidations, and tax);
  • Commercial property sector or at least some exposure to property in a financial services space.
