They now seek a portfolio manager assistant to join their team. You will work in the office in Stellenbosch.
We are recruiting for a Portfolio Manager Assistant based in Stellenbosch and are looking for candidates who are highly client-centric and thrive in a relationship-driven environment. Strong client service experience is the single most important requirement, particularly candidates who have dealt directly with clients and demonstrated a commitment to delivering excellent service. Our preference is for candidates with experience in wealth management, investments, banking, paraplanning, adviser support, investment administration or similar financial services environments, although we are open to broader financial services backgrounds where client servicing has been a key component of the role. Technical product knowledge can be developed, but strong client engagement skills are essential.
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible for proactively manage all client, intermediary and third-party manager queries and process their requests (for example, portfolio queries, tax reports, fees etc.);
- You will be required to collate corporate actions with portfolio manager and clients;
- You will be required to collate private placements with portfolio manager and clients;
- You will be responsible for collating client payment information and documentation;
- You will be responsible for collating share transfer information and documentation;
- You will be responsible for collating cash journal information and documentation;
- You will be responsible for collating on boarding documents and quality check on all mandates and FICA information;
- You will be required to screen all new clients against various sanction lists prior on boarding;
- You will be required to collate and submit cash receipts;
- You will be required to submit clear and accurate instructions on all admin processes to central admin hub;
- You will be responsible for trade allocation;
- You will be required to collate and submit score and monthly management fee reports;
- You will be responsible for ad hoc administrative duties;
- You will be required to monitor safe custody fees on BDA system;
- You will be required to follow up on debit lists;
- You will be required to monitor at home positions;
- You will be required to manage the diary for portfolio manager(s);
- You will be required to prepare Information packs for meetings.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have a B.Com degree;
- You have a registered person exam (this would be a distinct advantage but not mandatory);
- You have a basic understanding of the private client business and ideally the stock-broking environment and private banking;
- You have experience within a financial services industry – this is essential;
- You have experience in a stock-broking environment – this is essential;
- You have Bonds and Safex exams – this would be a distinct advantage;
- You are proficient in MS Office;
- You have working knowledge of financial systems;
- You have working knowledge of BDA;
- You have experience within the private wealth industry;
- You have a high level of accuracy.
