They now seek a product developer to join their team.

The product development team operates as a global business unit with team members based in both London and Cape Town. The team is small but highly effective. Product development interacts closely with the company’s other teams globally. The role is based in Cape Town but with a remit across the company’s worldwide product suite and related activities. This exciting role supports work on new product and investment strategy development and management of existing products and strategies across the company’s global business. The value add extends across a variety of investment strategies (e.g., equity, multi-asset, fixed income, alternative credit), public and private markets, as well as multiple types of investment vehicles (e.g., SICAV’s, AIF’s, OEIC’s, units trusts, hedge funds, AMETF’s and US fund structures), as well as supporting strategic change projects. JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • New product development:
    • You will be required to drive and facilitate end-to-end product development from idea generation to implementation, including:
  • You will be responsible for identifying client needs and researching and interpreting competitor offerings;
  • You will be responsible for keeping abreast of market trends and regulatory / tax developments;
  • You will be responsible for product design and operational model impacts;
  • You will be responsible for presenting and seeking approval for new product-related proposals to senior management, including various committees and boards;
  • Product management:
  • You will be required, including ongoing work, to ensure the products and ranges evolve to meet client demands, regulatory changes, product governance responsibilities and commercial requirements;
  • You will be responsible for executing ideas that are prioritised and ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and in line with the product process and other relevant internal and external processes and regulations;
  • Investment strategy development:
    • You will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing optimisation of the product range in partnership with the commercial strategy, investments and global client group teams;
    • You will be required to interact with individuals from all parts of the business, including the aforementioned business units, the operations cluster and the legal and compliance teams.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have the ability to comprehensively navigate data tools (e.g., Morningstar).
  • You have a relevant tertiary degree;
  • You have a minimum of 5 – 7 years current, relevant work experience in the investment (or adjacent) industry;
  • You have academic excellence;
  • You have professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FASSA, MBA, CA(SA), PrEng, FRM, CAIA) – this would be a distinct advantage;
    • You have experience in developing responsible investment products and REAL experience in Private Markes – this would be a distinct advantage;
  • You have top-tier proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and CoPilot;
  • You are proficient in leveraging AI tools for data analysis, automation, and decision support, enhancing efficiency and insights;
  • You have coding skills (Python, VBA, R, Java, or similar) – this would be a distinct advantage;
