SENIOR CREDIT ANALYST – FI – ASSET MANAGEMENT – GAUTENG IDEALLY – REF 9740

Our client is a multi-specialist investment company in 10 African countries with business partners

in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.  As one of the largest investment managers in South Africa, the company employs a wide range of professional and specialist investment and technical staff. Staff complement countrywide is nearly 600. They have a diverse investment offering designed to deliver on their investment promise to their clients.

They now seek a senior credit analyst to join their team. report to the head of credit who is a smart capable individual and a good leader!

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

·       You will be responsible for all aspects of credit analysis process for a selected portfolio of counterparties and the industries which they form part of;

·       You will be responsible for origination of credit assets for a broad range of fixed income funds;

·       You will be responsible for making credit recommendations to the fixed income credit committee in respect of:

• • Forward-looking, through-the-cycle internal credit ratings;
  • Credit limits for a range of banks, corporates, SOE issuers as well securitisations and other structured credit vehicles;
  • Internal risk-based assessments of environmental, social and governance risks;

·       You will be responsible for supporting fixed income portfolio managers by providing recommendations for the pricing of listed credit instruments;

·       You will be responsible for ongoing proactive monitoring of selected credit counterparties;

·       You will be required to provide support to other credit analysts in the team;

·       You will be responsible for internal and external stakeholder management;

·       You will be required to assist with automation of credit process;

·       You will be required to assist with client reporting.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·       You are CA(SA), CFA or similar –

·       You have asset management experience – this is preferred but not essential;

·       You have prior credit deal making experience;

·       You have prior corporate or structured finance credit experience at a rating agency or SA bank;

·       You have banking and treasury audit experience;

·       You have an understanding of credit and fixed income markets;

·       You have working knowledge of investments and fixed income instruments.
