Our client who has been established in South Africa and investing on behalf of clients and has grown to become one of Africa’s largest investment management companies. This company is an investment management firm focussed on building long-term wealth for their clients. The company’s primary goal is to achieve long term wealth creation for its clients.
They now seek a senior IT auditor to join their team. You will report to the manager: IT audit. You must have a CISA certification and relevant experience. You will be very well rewarded for your expertise.
JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- You will be responsible for assisting the IT audit manager in planning, managing and executing internal audit (IA) activities, specifically in the IT area;
- You will be required to support the development of the annual IT audit plan;
- You will be required to assist the IT audit manager with developing and documenting risk-based engagement plans for each engagement, including scope, objectives, timelines and resource allocation;
- You will be required to perform end-to-end IT audit engagements with minimal supervision;
- You will be required to evaluate IT risks and control frameworks, identifying gaps and recommending improvements;
- You will be required to execute IT audits, including:
- Application controls;
- General IT controls (GITC’s);
- IT infrastructure and platforms;
- Cybersecurity and information security;
- IT projects and system implementations;
- You will be required to develop and maintain risk-based audit programmes;
- You will be required to compile clear, concise and impactful audit reports;
- You will be required to communicate audit findings, recommendations and action plans to management;
- You will be required to conduct follow-up reviews on audit findings and remediation actions;
- You will be required to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across IT and business;
- You will be required to lead, coach and mentor junior team members on audit engagements;
- You will be required to contribute to continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies and practices.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- You have the relevant degree or postgraduate qualification – this is required;
- You have a degree in accounting / auditing, information systems, computer science or equivalent – this is essential;
- You have CISA certification – this is non-negotiable;
- You have CIA, CRISC, CISSP – this would be a distinct advantage;
- You have a minimum of 5 years current, relevant IT audit experience; in a professional firm – ideally FS but not essential –
- You have demonstrated ability to perform independent, risk-based IT audits with minimal supervision;
- You have strong technical IT audit capability, including exposure to:
- Cybersecurity;
- Cloud environments;
- IT infrastructure and platforms;
- Emerging technologies (e.g. AI);
- You have data analytics experience – this would be a distinct advantage.
